The historic Sandford House and Heritage Square gardens are yours to rent for special events!

Imagine making your entrance from the grand stairway in The Sandford House main foyer or gliding across lush green lawns to your true love waiting for you beneath the gazebo. Graduating? Family Reunion? Perhaps your organization needs a beautiful, formal place to meet and dine. The Woman’s Club of Fayetteville wants to help make your event divine!

We look forward to offering our venue for your event, a memorable occasion for you. The building(s) inside and/or courtyard is available to you as needed. Decorating may be done the day before the event, if the venue is available. The time of use is to include the set-up, the event, and the post-event time. The final payment will be due two weeks before the event.

Upon Booking the Venue

All visits to Heritage Square in preparations for the event must be coordinated with a Representative of the Woman’s Club of Fayetteville, Inc. The Representative will also be responsible for opening, monitoring, and closing the venue. Heritage Square will not be responsible for rental property left at the property overnight or items lost or misplaced the guest. Each building must not exceed Fire Code capacity: Sandford House 75 occupants; Oval Ballroom 40 occupants; Sandford House Basement 75 occupants.

Care of Heritage Square

A custodial fee is collected to defray the cost of getting buildings and courtyard ready for your event. None of the furnishing or rugs will be moved, due to the ages and value of the pieces. The Club’s representative will move items on tables or mantels to keep them from breakages. Children are welcome to the property, but must be under adult supervision during their stay. Unruly guests will be asked to leave. Nothing should be nailed or taped inside or outside of the buildings. All courtyard decorations, to include rose petals must be removed during clean-up. No fires, candles, rice, birdseed, or bubbles inside buildings. Smoking is permitted in the back parking lot only.


A refundable damage fee must be paid and will be returned after the event if these is no damage or extra timed used.


Caterers will be allowed to use the kitchen for prep work. There is a fee for the use of the stoves. Caterers will be asked to leave the kitchen clean and take all garage and/or trash to the dumpsters. Caterers must supply their own utensils, garbage bags, ice and follow the check list for caterers posted in the kitchen.

Musicians and/or DJs may not play after 11:00 pm in compliance with city of Fayetteville noise ordinance. Dance is not allowed inside buildings, but is permissible in the courtyard.

Photography on the day of the occasion may be taken anywhere on the property. To schedule a photographic session at any other time it is necessary to call the venue and to pay the per hours fee for use of the venue.

Cancellation /Postponement Policies

It is the responsibility of the client to notify the venue ASAP by phone AND in writing or email if a cancellation or postponement occurs. DOD Guidelines will be followed for Military Clients. If Heritage Square is forced to close due to an Act of God, the client and the venue will work together on rescheduling the event.
